Lecturer at ATU, YAADA, Ireland

I've been very fortunate to collaborate on wonderful projects with great people since my graduation from Scenography at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in 2004. I’ve designed music videos, feature films, adverts, dance performances, opera, and puppet shows, across Slovakia, the UK, France and, most recently, in Ireland. I collaborated on architectural competitions for RIBA while in the UK and also designed graphics for various projects, including a series of books.

Since 2018, I've been a Lecturer in Theatre Design at the Atlantic Technological University in Sligo, Ireland. Here I have been exploring the relationships between space, the body, materiality and movement. In this journey I guide the students in transforming their ideas into 3D form. For the past couple of years, I've also been an active committee member of ISPD.​

​Some of the award winning projects I’ve been involved in:

 

• 2017, John and Joan, a play which won the Audience Award at the Short Play Festival 10 x 10 in Cork Art Theatre, IE.

• 2013, Barzakh, a short film which won co-first prize for the local category in the Underground Short Film Festival Cork, IE. It was also nominated for 'Best in Cork' and 'Best Original Score' at the Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival 2013, IE

• 2012, Made in Ash / Až do mesta Aš, a feature film, which was selected as the Slovak entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards

• 2011, Life is a Beach, architectural design project, Highly Commended in architectural competition Forgotten Spaces Sheffield 2011 (RIBA), UK

• 2005, "The verse of Samorin”, a book I designed, received the award “The most beautiful book”,SVK.

• 1999, "Microcosmos”, a fashion collection in collaboration with Jana Novakova (SVK) received the award “Golden Fatima”, SVK

I hold an MFA in Scenography from The Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (SVK) and a certificate in Fashion Design from the Secondary School of Art and Design in Trencin (SVK).
